Below are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on TAG.
The TAG platform provides a secure infrastructure for capturing, retaining and conveying know-how through controlled rich-media documents – or TAGs. Once a TAG is distributed we also have tools to enable commenting, collaboration and content notifications. TAG can work beyond the firewall – enabling knowledge sharing with partner organisations or suppliers.
TAG is for any manufacturing business that feels the pain of controlled knowledge distribution. It has been built with high-value-manufacturing environments in mind, providing the required support, security and features. TAG counts employees at world leading manufacturing companies amongst its active user base. These businesses use TAG everyday to improve know-how in the workplace.
Security is our top priority. We maintain 256-bit SSL banking grade encryption across the entire site, full user access controls and testing against web application vulnerabilities. We follow strict standards both in our own application and with our data center provider. TAG’s production systems are hosted in a highly specified data center, delivering world leading security, power, connectivity and environmental control. This close control allows us to offer industry leading uptime agreements.
All development takes place under our internal quality management system(QMS). The QMS covers all aspects of how we work day-to-day including release, access and backup procedures. Regular tests and reviews of these procedures are required by the QMS. The QMS and our processes are externally audited by our cGMP compliant customers.
All users have access to the same single level high-quality support via account managers and support technicians who know your environment. We work closely with organisations to define and develop templates that have relevance to their situation.
In addition, TAG can be configured by turning features on and off. We also provide custom development for business requirements not currently available or to integrate TAG into your existing intranet, extranet or other applications.
TAG is designed to help people work together more successfully. Here are just some of the benefits to using TAG:
TAG doesn’t require any special software or IT knowledge to use it. All you need is access to the internet and an internet browser. There’s no download or install required.TAG is available across both Mac and PC platforms and works in many browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
SignPost is your gateway to the know-how. Browse, launch and full-text search all published TAGs. View meta-data around TAGs like owner, published date and other subscribed people.
A TAG is a rich-media document authored using the TAG Editor. Supporting text, images, video, documents, links and other interactive features. You can create unlimited TAGs within your account and flexible controls enable published TAGs to be shared with individuals or whole organisations.
A publication is a read-only version of a TAG, created by an Editor which can be seen by Viewers. Many publications exist for each TAG, but only the one that meets all agreed criteria is shown to a Viewer. All historical publications are retained to meet auditing requirements.
The TAG platform enables multi-tiered control over peoples access to content, firstly at an organisation level and then for each TAG publication. Individuals access to TAGs is controlled by 2 factors. Firstly the person must have access to the TAG, assigned on a one-one basis. Secondly each published TAG has to meet criteria to be visible by people with access capability. This allows many published versions of a single TAG to be available to different user groups.
Code Vanilla, the creators of TAG are located in London with TAG the application located in a UK based cloud. On premises installation is possible but may reduce the features available.
